Competition Report

Club de Golf El Paraiso @ La Marquesa 5/2/16

18 members found their way to the course that’s nestled between Rojales and Ciudad Quesada, although one or two did need a Little help to find their way out again. The course was very busy for this time of year but this did not slow down our round. There is a lot of maintenance taking place, especially around the greens; the irrigation system is being completely replaced which the course will benefit from during the hot summer months. Almost all nationalities of our membership were represented but by far the majority were Vikings and one could be excused for thinking that they would be taking home most of the prizes this however was not the case in neither the N.T.P. competition or in the Stableford competition. The winners in the N.T.P. competition were Hole 5 Joe Dean, Hole 12 Tove Roed (Viking) Hole 15 Joe Dean Hole 17, the shortest par 3 on the course at just over 100m, would you believe that no one managed to get the ball on the green. The course was playing a little on the tricky side so no one managed to play to par. It took just 32 points for Polish member Jack Daroszewski to take 3rd place, first and second places had to be decided on handicap which meant that Swedish member Lennart Holmberg lost out to the inform Dutchman Fred Kras with scores of 33 points. After removing all cards that had won a prize, a card draw was made for a bottle of rioja! Today’s competition was the 3rd of 12 before the end of June 2016. The best 5 cards of each player will be added together and the lucky winner will receive the fabulous prize of a 2 day golf break for 2 players to the much liked Las Pinaillas course near to Albacete and includes 2 rounds of golf per player including buggy, 2 menu del dias in the clubhouse and 1 night bed and breakfast in a local hotel. Photo is of our card draw winners. Our next competition is at La Manga (south course) on the 19th February, so if you fancy a short trip to play this prestigious  course, call our Secretary on 661 524 101 or e-mail him at caddiemaster@clubdegolfelparaiso.com you can also book your place via our website  www.clubdegolfelparaiso.com follow us via Facebook/club de golf el paraiso or via witter @elparaiso14
